The True Story of the Demon Doll which inspired the Movies “the Conjuring” and “ Annabelle ”
In 1970 a mother purchased an antique Raggedy Ann Doll for her daughter from a small hobby store, the story that followed has been the inspiration for two major Hollywood horror movies.
Her daughter’s name was Donna, who was preparing to graduate from college. At first she took a liking to the doll but over time, both her and her room mate, began to suspect and, more so, feel something strange and creepy about the doll. This suspicion gradually became more disturbing because the doll apparently moved from one position to another on its own.
At first this was very inconspicuous, such as a very minor change in position, but over time passed the movement became more noticeable. Donna and her room mate Angie would come home to find the doll in a completely different location from which they had left it and, yes, this included different rooms.
Sometimes the doll would be found crossed legged on their couch with its arms folded and other times it was found standing on its feet, leaning against something. Several times Donna would place the doll on the couch before leaving for work and when she returned home she would find it back in her room on the bed with the door closed. To make matters worse, little notes and messages began emerging, such as “help us” and “help Lou”.
Obviously, this began to frighten the two young women.
One day the women came back home and found what clearly appeared to be blood on the dolls hands, and for them this was the final straw. The women then decided to consult with a medium based on the mysterious and spooky happenings that were taking place.
The medium related the story of Annabelle to Donna and Angie that this doll was inhabited by the spirit of a little girl known as Annabelle Higgins, who died when she was only seven years old after being discovered in the field that predated the home. The spirit related to the medium that it felt comfort with Donna and Angie and wanted to stay with them and be loved.
Both Donna and Angie were moved by the story and decided to keep the doll, but over time, they found out that this story was a lie and the doll itself was actually being controlled and manipulated by a demonic presence that became violent until it was eventually subdued.
While this story is certainly disturbing, it does show that these powers need our attention, they need our feelings, and they need our energy in order to thrive and grow. Without our fear and emotional investment they are weak.
This brings into many questions since we live on a world in which the masses are constantly and consistently fed a steady diet of fear which debilitates them.
Are there invisible forces which feed off of our fear? Please leave your thoughts below.
